Re: Country Creek Builders/Dan Drenckhahn

To Whom It May Concern:

We recently hired Country Creek Builders to finish our basement. Having had a horrible experience with a contractor the year prior on another home project, we spent a great deal of time vetting different contractors, getting estimates, and checking references. As a stay-at-home parent with two young children, I was also looking for a company that would be professional with great communication. I wanted to be informed about who was at my house and when they would be there. And last (but of course not least), my husband and I were concerned about staying on budget.

Country Creek was able to meet or exceed our expectations on all accounts. Dan promptly answered numerous emails and phone calls about our estimate until my husband and I were comfortable that the bottom line would meet both our tastes and our budget. Dan also provided us with a calendar at the beginning of the project that delineated the stages of the project and when they would be completed. Any hiccups during the project were discussed with us and we were informed if the project calendar changed.

Lastly, I was most impressed with the team at Country Creek. The crew that was on-site was professional and courteous. They made a big effort to make sure our lives were not disrupted during the project. The team was always conscious of making the construction experience better for us. For example, the project site was cleaned and swept every night, the supplies for the project were brought through a basement window, and there was always time to answer our day-to-day questions. My children were quite sad when the project was over as their “friends” wouldn’t be in the basement anymore.

I will be calling Dan for future projects and recommending him to friends and neighbors. We are very pleased with our finished basement.

Sincerely,

Sarah Brass

Hello Friends of Country Creek Builders,

It has been a busy year already – and it is only the middle of February. I hope that the New Year is treating you well.
One of the goals that I wanted to accomplish this year was developing and launching a new web site. I wanted my new web site to showcase the projects that Dave, Brittney, Kyle and I have been working on. It took a lot of time to upload the projects photos, the description of what was done, and what products were used in each project.

I am proud to say that the web site was launched last week. Please check it out, and let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,
Dan Drenckhahn, President

This fall we had the opportunity to remodel a Farmington home’s kitchen. If we do say so ourselves, the end results were nothing short of spectacular!

We began by removing all of the kitchen cabinets and replacing them with custom built Knotty Alder cabinets. Our customization allowed for plenty of bump outs, bump ups and stiles, giving the room added character and dimension. After we finished the cabinets, we installed granite countertops, an under mount sink, and new faucet fixtures. Next, we tiled the backsplash. Finally, we moved into the dining room and replaced the carpet with oak flooring to coordinate with the rest of the house. The resulting space was a warm and functional gathering room, perfect for preparing and sharing many a future family meal!

We began by refinishing the ceilings of every room in the house. We removed the home’s popcorn textured ceilings and replaced them with a more modern, smooth finish. Next, we turned our attention to the doors, removing every white painted interior door in the home and replacing each with a single paneled oak door, complete with new trim. The white painted base boards throughout the house were also removed and replaced with oak.

From there we moved into the home’s master bathroom, fully gutting and remodeling the space. After removing walls, installing new plumbing fixtures, updating the room’s lighting and transforming the room’s layout, we installed a custom tiled shower and
sitting bench, a new bathtub, and a double vanity complete with Eco Crystal Ash solid surface counter top.

We also gutted and renovated the home’s kitchen. Here we installed all new quarter-inch sawn oak cabinets and replaced the existing countertops with Zodiac Nutmeg quartz countertops.

Last, but certainly not least, to help give the house a warmer feel, we refinished the existing maple wood floors, staining the clear colored maple a darker, cozier color. Finally, we painted each and every room in the house to help put the finishing touch on this three-month renovation!

While the temperature outside is cooling down, we are staying warm inside with plenty of remodeling and home improvement work!

First up, we just finished a complete three-month long home remodel in Minneapolis. From ceilings and floors to walls and trims, there were few surfaces left unimproved in this home! After our Minneapolis project we completed a Farmington, Minnesota kitchen remodel in which we removed all of the kitchen cabinets and replaced them with custom-built Knotty Alder cabinets complete with unique bump-outs and stiles. To further update the space we installed granite countertops and a tiled backsplash. Last but certainly not least, we replaced the dining room’s carpet with oak flooring, complete with a contrasting cherry wood border.

We also worked on some exciting installation in a new home in Northfield, Minnesota. We installed tile floors in both the home’s master bath and the children’s bathroom and put in a kitchen backsplash. The homeowner asked us to come up with a tiling concept for the work in this home and we were excited to work with them to complete the final design!

In addition to our residential work, we have continued to stay busy on the commercial side remodeling Great Clips stores. In the month of October alone we completed three Twin Cities’ store overhauls.

Are you ready for us to tackle your remodeling or home improvement project? Check out our project gallery and contact us to get started today!

Watch out – Country Creek Builders has broken into the world of television!

The DIY Network show, Bath Crashers, is on a mission to “crash and trash bathrooms.” Each week they overhaul a sub-par bathroom with the goal of changing it into a stunning, practical, and modern space. Recently, while Bath Crashers was working on a home in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, County Creek Builders was asked to make a cameo on the popular show – not as homeowners in need of a bathroom overhaul, but rather to do what we do best – help to transform a home in need!

The bathroom being remodeled was located in a home basement with extremely uneven concrete flooring – so uneven in fact that one area was a full inch and a half lower than the rest of the floor! To resolve this flooring conundrum, we first poured concrete in the room’s lowest area to begin preparing the floor. Once the concrete was allowed to cure overnight, we headed back to pour a self-leveling floor over the entire bathroom.

To see us in action, be sure to set your DVR to the DIY Network for Monday, December 5. Do you want Country Creek Builders to crash your bathroom? Check out more of our bathroom remodeling projects in our gallery and contact us for your own bathroom improvement project today!

We recently finished remodeling a beautiful bathroom in Woodbury – take a look at the amazing before and after photos. We started the remodel by gutting the bathroom right down to the studs and removing the stub floor. We then changed the location of the vanity, shower and toilet. We built a custom maple vanity and linen closet, and installed a travertine vanity top with an under mount copper sink. The clients wanted a walk-in shower so we installed detailed tile throughout the entire space, along with frameless shower glass. To complete the bathroom remodel we installed detailed copper tile around the mirror and two recessed shelves in the shower.

“We used Dan this past March of 2011 to finish our basement. I honestly was very nervous about hiring a contractor with all the rumors of horror stories. What I liked about Dan was that he was straight forward and organized. He was also always available by phone and email. Dan put together an awesome calendar schedule for me that outlined exactly what was happening on which day. He also was very honest about costs with us. He was creative as well. If there was anything I didn’t think looked right, I would tell him, and sure enough it was fixed the next day. He was a no excuses kind of guy. He takes pride in his work.”
