Take a look at the pictures of a basement project in Lakeville, Minnesota that the Country Creek Crew recently finished. This project involved removing two existing walls that separated the existing family room area from a storage area.
The homeowner’s had mentioned to me during the demo phase of this project that the existing floor for the main level family room was extremely bouncy. So, after removing the sheet rock and framing from the basement walls, We added five additional floor trusses in the ceiling of the basement area – to stiffen up the main level floor.
Wet Bar Addition
In order to add a wet bar, we had to jackhammer the concrete floor so that Joe, from Bovaag Plumbing, could add the new drains. We then framed the new walls, wired the new area of the basement, added heat supplies, and then sheet rocked the basement. Since the family recently transferred from Texas, a custom Maple wet bar was designed with a special Texas touch – two Texas Stars where designed into the tops of the fluted stile’s in the back bar mirror area. The cabinets are made of Maple, with a natural stain and oil rubbed bronze hardware. The back bar included a wine rack with a glass rack, microwave storage area, and a center locking cabinet. The center of the back bar had an arched frame and a matching arched mirror. The front bar includes a sink, under cabinet fridge and a curved 42″ high bar top.
The two columns of stacked stone finish off the bar area. A ceiling radius arch creatively hides some needed duct work – giving this project the full attention that the family deserves for their basement finishing project.
