Turning A Nightmare Into A Dream

The Kontz family in Eagan had always dreamed of a larger kitchen and a leaking dishwasher gave them the perfect opportunity to make it happen.   After the water damage restoration company came in and removed the damage cabinets, sheet rock and flooring, the Kontz family started researching contractors to help them repair and update their kitchen. Their existing kitchen was too small for their active and busy schedules and they were looking for design ideas on how to expand their kitchen area. After meeting with several contractors, they were still looking for a contractor that could come up with a design that fulfills their dreams.

TAKE THE TIME TO VISIT A CURRENT PROJECT

After meeting with Country Creek Builders and hearing our thoughts and ideas on ways to improve their lives with a new updated and larger kitchen, they wanted to visit a project that we were currently working on close to their home. After hearing a few horror stories about projects gone bad , they wanted to make sure that they hired the right contractor.  I had the Kontz family visit a kitchen that Country Creek Builders was just finishing that was nearby. This gave them a chance to see our work and meet our employees.  After seeing the quality and cleanliness of our job site, they knew that Country Creek Builders would make their dream kitchen a reality.

DESIGNING FOR A BUSY FAMILY

The primary goal with this kitchen design was to make the kitchen larger and have an island with seating for four. The formal dining room next to the kitchen was never used, so our design included removing the wall in between the existing kitchen and formal dining room.  The design also included removing a load bearing wall from the formal dining room area to the front family room, which meant installing an LVL load bearing beam.  The kitchen design included a long island with seating for four and a separate food prep area

THE FINISHING TOUCH

When homeowners work with Country Creek Builders on their home improvement project, they also help with selecting the materials. Sometimes making the selections can be overwhelming but Country Creek Builders is here to help. The perimeter kitchen cabinets for this project were painted Pearly white and the island’s color was Peppercorn. The walls were painted with Sherwin Williams Repose Gray (SW7015). The countertops are Statuary Classique Quartz and finished off with a Silver mist smooth Architectural 3 x 6 glass subway tile.  Coretec Plus Enhanced 7” LVT flooring was selected for the kitchen and main floor area.

As you can see from this progress video the change to this kitchen was dramatic.  When you are ready to update your kitchen, Country Creek Builders has the design and construction experience to make your dream come true.
